How do I fix product data validation errors?
Mothership product requirements
Each product that Mothership imports from your ecommerce platform must have the following data before it can be assigned to a retailer.
- Title
- Description
- At least one image.
Additionally, each of your product variants must have the following.
- product-unique SKU
- non-zero price
Mothership checks to see if your products meet these requirements whenever we import or update your product data.
How do I know if any of my products do not meet the requirements?
Open up the Mothership Vendor Portal and navigate to the products page by clicking on Products in the menu on the left. Products that have passed validation will have a green checkmark next to it. In turn, products that failed validation will have a red X.
If you click on a product that has failed its validation you'll be taken to the product detail page. At the the top of the page, you'll see a banner that outlines the requirements the product did not meet.
Products that fail validation cannot be assigned to a retailer until you fix the issue.
How can I fix product validation errors?
Mothership treats your ecommerce platform as the source of truth for all product data. As such, you will need to address whatever issues the product has within the ecommerce platform and then wait for Mothership to pull in your latest product changes. Product synchronization happens once per minute. Once that's done, we'll reevaluate your product and update or remove any validation errors.
If you have manually created your products in Mothership, you'll have the option to correct the data in the product listing directly in Mothership.
