How to publish Shopify products to Mothership
This tutorial covers how to add or remove products in Mothership from your Shopify store.
Prerequisites
This article assumes you have set up a Mothership Vendor Portal account and have connected it to your Shopify store.
A quick word on synchronization: Behind the scenes, Mothership automatically pulls down the latest changes from your Shopify store. This process will add or remove any product you've made available or unavailable to Mothership. We check for the latest changes about once per minute, but you can always trigger a synchronization by clicking on the sync products button at the top of the product index page in the Mothership Vendor Portal.
Adding and removing products in Mothership from Shopify
Since Mothership Supplier is a sales channel in Shopify, there are two ways you can add or remove products in Mothership from your Shopify admin.
Bulk publishing
To publish multiple products at once, open up your Shopify admin panel and click on "Products" in the menu on the left. On the next page, select the products you want to publish to Mothership, then click on the the three-dot-button in the more actions popup at the bottom of the page. From the menu, click on 'Include in sales channels'.
Then make sure Mothership Supplier is checked in the modal and click on the 'Include products' button.
Mothership will start pulling in your products shortly after you publish them. How long that process takes will be a function of how many products you publish to the Mothership Supplier sales channel.
Bulk unpublishing
To remove multiple products at once, you're going to follow a similar process to bulk publishing. From the product index page in Shopify, select the products you want to remove from Mothership and then click on the 3-dot more actions button in the pop up at the bottom of the page. Then click on 'Exclude from sales channels'.
Shopify should then display a modal. Make sure that Mothership Supplier is checked and click on the 'Exclude products' button. Mothership will then start the process of removing the products from your Mothership Vendor Portal account. As mentioned previously, how long that process takes will be determined by how many products you are removing.
Adding and removing a single product
Alternatively, you can publish an individual product by navigating to the product's configuration page and then clicking the blue Manage link next to Sales Channels and Apps.
Make sure Mothership Supplier is checked in the displayed modal and click 'Done'.
Viewing products in Mothership
If you open up the Mothership Vendor Portal and click on products on the left hand side, you'll be able to see all of the products currently published to your Mothership account.
